Mike Lawrence, the managing director of The Ham Hill Stone Co Ltd, has been awarded the degree of Master of Science in the Conservation of Historic Buildings with distinction from the University of Bath.

Working in close association with the Harvey partnership of stonemasons, Ham Hill have an ever increasing involvement in conservation and restoration. They have recently added roofing slates to their range of products as the result of a research programme conducted by Mike.

To extend his expertise in the conservation and restoration of stone, Mike is now studying the performance and formulation of plastic repairs to stone for a doctoral thesis at the Bath.
