MP lays foundation stone for new Buildings Craft College
Stephen Timms, MP for East Ham and Financial Secretary to the Treasury, laid the foundation stone of the new Building Crafts College being constructed in Kennard Road, London E15, on 8 December.
The Building Crafts College was founded in 1893 and although it is owned by the Worshipful Company of Carpenters, one of London\'s livery companies, it is as famous for its banker masonry and architectural stone carving courses as it is for its carpentry and joinery courses.
The college is currently in Great Titchfield Street, W1, but is taking the opportunity to move to much larger purpose-built premises in Stratford. The construction work should be finished in August next year.
