The National Association of Memorial Masons (NAMM) had to scrap the idea of a one-day annual general meeting followed by a dinner-dance planned for 14 September.

The new-look annual conference idea did not prove a hit with members and the conference at the Five Lakes Hotel golf and country club in Essex was cancelled.

The AGM was due to be held instead on the afternoon of 14 September (after we had gone to press) at Hanover International Hotel in Hinkley, Leicestershire, near the NAMM headquarters in Rugby.

Barri Stirrup, the national executive officer, says NAMM will return to a more traditional style conference next year over a weekend in late September with a full programme of events.
