Tunbridge Wells stonemasons Burslem, who have traded from the same site on Benhall Mill Road since 1880, are moving this month (March) into new, larger premises that are better able to cope with their increasing workload.

A hundred years ago they expanded into Hastings, opening a branch on the Ridge, but they also continued trading from Benhall Mill Road.

Now the operations from both sites are being combined in new, purpose built premises just two miles outside of Tunbridge Wells - but in Sussex rather than Kent.

The new site in Frant includes a showroom, workshops, offices and customer parking.

The move will, they say, provide clients with a greater choice of materials and a more personal and flexible service. An official open day is being arranged for later in the spring.

David Hall, Managing Director of Burslem, says: "The move will contribute enormously towards the growth of the company. We will be able to operate much more efficiently, given the increased space. Benhall Mill Road and the Ridge have been great locations but we just ran out of room."
