Spanish company Compac have opened their own 1,200m2 warehouses near Heathrow in London and in Wakefield, Yorkshire, stocking marble and engineered quartz. Their UK business manager is Sergio Ramirez.
And they have maximised publicity for the move by signing up Tottenham Hotspur Manager Juande Ramos, who is also Spanish, to be their ‘ambassador’.
Compac quartz, which is made in Portugal, has been available in the UK for several years through distributors such as MGLW in London, who have done well supplying it alongside the marble, granite and limestone they buy from around the world (even Portland limestone from the UK).
Their customers often want both quartz and natural stone and MGLW say they have agreed with Compac that they will continue to supply the quartz.
Compac have quarries in Spain as well as their quartz factories in Spain and Portugal and will sell both natural and man-made products from their new warehouses in the UK.
Compac were established in 1975. They are a family run business that has grown dramatically worldwide with the increased popularity of both stone and, particularly, engineered quartz.
Juande Ramos said of his new ambassadorial role for Compac: “I’m very happy to be an ambassador for a Spanish company that is growing worldwide. In many ways it is a symbol that my country is developing and becoming an important provider of high end products.”
