D Zambelis : New machine ranges after Marmomacc

Having already moved into the top division of Italian stone processing machinery supply, D Zambelis, the Essex-based machinery and tool supplier, returned from the Marmomacc exhibition in Verona this year with offers from even more Italian companies looking for new representation in the UK.

Now that ‘T’s have been crossed and ‘I’s dotted, Zambelis can announce that it has added machinery producers CMG, Donatoni and Omag, and dust suppression company Turrini Claudio to the Italian companies whose products it sells in the UK. It had already taken on the agency for Achilli and earlier this year added the saw range of Terzago.

CMG produces Futura, Taurus and Flotter edge polishers in its 2,600m2 factory near Verona.

With its floating heads, self-lubricating bearings and a body that is protected with seven coats of paint, CMG edge polishers incorporate all the latest technology, including complete CNC control on the Futura range, while managing to keep the machines simple to operate.

Donatoni Macchine makes an impressive selection of sophisticated CNC stone processing machinery.

The company was founded by Carlo Donatoni in 1957, with those years of experience of manufacturing machinery intended to make life easier for stone specialists evident in the machines it produces today from its factory, also near Verona.

Omag makes some of the heavyweight hydraulic CNC workcentres used by the stone industry – machines such as the Blade5, which can saw as well as milling, routing, turning, sculpting and polishing. Its high-performance spindle has a peak torque of 400Nm.

Omag was set up in 1979 by Angelo Albani. Today it does not just design and build equipment, but at its factory in Bergamo, outside Milan, it tests materials and develops tools and software as well as its constantly evolving product base.

It uses computer simulations of customer working conditions for preliminary product development, moving on to machine production and trials only when the engineers have solved all the problems they present themselves on the computer models.

Omag says “serious, professional commitment to our customer’s requirements” is its hallmark, and that technical support and training are an integral part of its commitment to customers throughout the lifetime of the machines.

The Turrini Claudio waterwalls and dust extraction systems are widely available in the UK and are often installed when masonry companies are upgrading their workshops with new machinery. It is not something that Zambelis has offered before, so customers have had to go elsewhere for the products when they are buying machines from Zambelis. Now they will not have to.
