Derek Byrne has been appointed Stone Process Manager for the UK division of Intermac, the Italian CNC workcentre company.

Derek is Intermac’s Sales Manager for Ireland and Northern Ireland – and will remain so – but now his area of responsibility has been expanded to cover the whole of the UK as well.

Derek joined Intermac as Ireland Manager in 2002, when Intermac created their UK subsidiary. Since then he has made Intermac market leader for stone CNC machinery in Ireland and sold more than 100 machines to the glass and stone sectors combined.

A graduate of The College Of Marketing and The Marketing Institute, before joining Intermac Derek was Sales Manager at British Alcan (BACO) for 10 years and then had a successful career in the glazing industry.

In 2000 he was involved in setting up Build Online, the international e-commerce website developed for the construction industry to provide web-based project collaboration hosting and an intranet supplier database.
