Reading masonry company A F Jones have opened a new showroom and workshop at Ipsden in Wallingford.
The official opening ceremony was performed by managing director Angus Jones at the end of March. The event also saw the launch of a new range of Portland Rustic tiles from Albion Stone Quarries that will sold from the showroom.
The new, 70m2 workshop and showroom is part of the continued development of A F Jones and will operate alongside the Reading head office and the memorial division of the company, E T Sheppard, at Henley on Thames.
Angus Jones said: "We have been in the stone industry for more than 130 years and have seen many changes in that time. As a forward thinking company, we wanted to ensure that the best health and safety practices were adopted and by opening the new workshop we are able to provide a better working environment for our masons.
"We have a lot more room at our new workshop and are not limited by space, as we were at our Reading yard, and this has enable us to separate the marble and granite elements from stone masonry."
As part of the new showroom development, Alan Gayle, commercial manager at Albion Stone, had been in discussions with Angus Jones and as a result A F Jones are the first masonry specialists to stock the entire range of Albion's Portland stone flooring, including Portland Rustic.
