For stone processing equipment suppliers D Zambelis it is not so much a question of a highlight of the year as the year itself being the highlight for the company.

It has been another record year for D Zambelis as owners Demetri and Stella Zambelis continue to find new customers for their existing ranges of machinery, tools and consumables and to add more ranges that provide more solutions to a wider range of stone processors.

The latest brand they have added to their range is Coor & Kleever, the floor refinishing machinery and consumables company. They shook hands on the deal at the Italian Marmomacc stone exhibition in September and D Zambelis have already sold four of the machines. One of the customers, who was going to hire a floor refinisher, decided to buy his own when he learned it would only cost him £800 extra.

D Zambelis also have a new, powerful but non-hazardous floor polishing powder at a price that they are convinced will be highly attractive to the sector.

The Natural Stone Show at ExCeL London in March got the year off to an excellent start for D Zambelis. They showed some of the huge range of machinery and handling equipment from another of their new agencies – Achilli.

D Zambelis have already made a major impact on the UK stone market by introducing Gisbert saws, workcentres and edge polishers, but were happy to offer an even wider range when the opportunity arose to represent the well-established name of Achilli. It certainly seems to have satisfied a lot of customers’ requirements with both bench saws and the larger Achilli saws selling well for Zambelis.

They have been so busy selling equipment that they are now calling on five engineers to make sure it is installed and commissioned without keeping customers waiting – because their speedy and attentive service is what keeps customers coming back to them, says Stella.
