Italian Salvatori opens in London

The new Salvatori stone showroom in London.

Italian stone specialist Salvatori has opened its fourth showroom, this time in London. It is in a listed building on the corner of Wigmore Street and Wimpole Street in the West End. It joins showrooms the company has opened in Milan, Zurich and Sydney.

It is on two floors and promotes itself as a celebration of the 'Best of Italy' with the interior design a collaboration between Piero Lissoni and Elisa Ossino.

The character of the ground floor, with corners and niches to intrigue, sets the scene for inspirational tableaux showcasing the three Salvatori themes: walls & floors, bathrooms and home collection.

The opening of this London showroom marks a significant step in the company’s intenational growth. Salvatori wants it to become a significant hub for UK-based architects and designers.

"We have been present in the UK through our distributors for many years," says CEO Gabriele Salvatori. "However, with London being at the heart of so many fantastic global projects, we believe it is the right time to have a dedicated showroom here. This means we will be in a position to offer our partners a fully integrated service right from the beginning of a project, through the consultation phase and, where necessary, through to implementation."

Since 1946, Salvatori has been providing product and design expertise to some of the world’s leading names in retail, hospitality and private construction. From boutiques for Ferragamo, Louis Vuitton, Giorgio Armani and Donna Karan, to hotels including St Regis, the Intercontinental and Radisson Kempinsky, and private villas at some of the world’s most exclusive addresses, Salvatori specialises in delivering stone for luxurious environments.

Known above all for its innovative design and techniques, the Tuscan-based company has won a host of awards, including the coveted Premio di Premi presented by the Italian President for its outstanding contribution to industry. It has even been recognised as the single most innovative brand in the stone sector in Italy in the 20th century.
