Cumbrian stone quarriers Kirkstone have supplied 250m2 of their Silver Green Slate with a flamed finish for the floor of the high-use foyer and reception area of the new Woodland Trust headquarters in Grantham, Lincolnshire.

The innovative building, designed by Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios, provides a sustainable working environment that aims to achieve a BREEAM Excellent rating. The floor was laid by Telling Finishes and the main contractors were B&K Building Services.

Kirkstone have now also increased their sales activity in the South East by appointing Rob Parfitt as Sales Director and Kathy Huntington as Sales Manager in the area. Both will be working from Kirkstone’s London showroom and offices in Fulham and will spearhead the promotion of the company’s own slates as well as a new line of commercial stones from Italy and Africa.
