There is 150m2 of pure Lapitec Avorio Lux lustre in a new three-storey Italian villa.
The full body sintered stone has been used for the living room floors and the staircase of this luxurious villa in Catanzaro, in Calabria.
The designers opted for 12mm thick slabs for the flooring and 20mm slabs for the staircase and doorways.
The Lux finish was specifically chosen for the natural way it reflects the light, giving the space a bright and airy radiance, while the delicate Avorio shade adds a touch of elegance.
The floor of the living room has been finished with herring bone-pattern tiles, made from Lapitec 90x90mm slabs, while the simple lines of the straight-edged slabs on the three flights of stairs have been offset by two rounded steps and rectangular tile accents reminiscent of Greek columns.
Although the aesthetic of the material was an essential element in the choice of the material, the client also the promise of a polished finish without the problems you typically get with ceramic floors.
And Lapitec‘s resistance to heat, chemicals and scratches, so they can be cleaned with an ordinary cloth and floor cleaning products, made this the perfect choice.
Lapitec is available in the UK from the Marble & Granite Centre.
