LPE split into machinery and tooling divisions

Carl Sharkey, who heads Breton UK and Laser Products Europe, is expanding the range of machinery and tooling he sells to UK stone processors.

Laser Products Europe (LPE) has successfully introduced American laser templaters to the European market and, last year, Carl also establish Breton UK in conjunction with the Italian machinery manufacturers.

Now he has split LPE into two divisions, one to sell a wider range of machinery and one to sell tooling to a wider audience. The new divisions are LPE Machinery and LPE Tooling.

Carl explains: “Since January we have noticed that there is still a need for more than just Breton machinery that we supply through Breton UK. With this in mind we have taken on three new agencies.”

The new agencies are for Sasso edge polishers and monoblock saws, Tesimag water treatment systems and a press for turning offcuts into tiles quickly and cheaply from D2 Technology. It can process even granites into shaped tiles finally giving processors an opportunity to make money out of offcuts rather than having to pay to have them taken away.

The LPE tooling division has been set up to supply Tyrolit Vincent tools to the whole market. Breton UK supply them to customers who have bought Breton CNC machines, but Carl noticed there was also a demand for them from processors with other makes of machinery.

The new divisions of LPE will be headed by Simon Bradbury, who joined Carl as Sales Director when Breton UK was established. Simon was previously with Planet Granite in the Midlands and met Carl when Planet Granite bought an LPE templater. He is based in Burton-on-Trent.
