Michael Gorman returns to Johnsons Wellfield

Michael Gorman has returned to Johnsons Wellfield Quarries as Specification Manager to help clients and architects in their choices about stone.

Michael Gorman has returned to Johnsons Wellfield Quarries after a year working with a masonry installation contractor on a substantial residential project.

Michael has an extensive career in the stone industry, starting as an apprentice Stone Mason when he left school. He achieved a City & Guilds Advanced Craft Stone Masonry Certificate and has gained a wealth of experience throughout his career with various stone contractors and manufacturers.

Michael joined the team at Johnsons Wellfield, the Huddersfield quarry company famous for its Crosland Hill hard York stone, 12 years ago as Sales & Marketing Manager.

His progression with the company allowed him to specialise in the technical element of the business and he developed his role to that of Technical Sales Manager.

Now, after his 12 month sabbatical (or busman’s holiday as he likes to call it), Michael has returned to the team at Johnsons Wellfield as Specification Manager.

His wealth of technical knowledge and production experience spanning more than 30 years in the stone industry enables him to fulfil a role adding value to customers' experience of Johnsons Wellfield.

He’s been known to operate machinery when he's not preparing quotations or giving a presentation on the use of Crosland Hill natural York stone to a room full of architects. And as Specification Manager, Michael’s main aim is to provide expert guidance allowing clients to make informed decisions ensuring the correct selection and specification of stone and surface finish for the project in hand.

He will also provide technical advice and assistance through every step of a project, maintaining the company's reputation for providing service excellence as standard.
