Spanish sandstone and limestone company Areniscas have set up a new company in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, to distribute their stone in the UK.
Areniscas UK has been formed in conjunction with Shaun Kirk, Stuart Lee, Richard Bean and Chris Kelsey, all of whom have established stone interests in the UK.
The new company was formed following the Natural Stone Show at ExCeL, London, in March, where Areniscas exhibited. Shaun Kirk says he had seen Areniscas at other shows in Europe and, through his company Stone Block, has supplied their stone for projects in the UK, so a formal arrangement made sense.
He says the stones from Spain are a good match for the Derbyshire stones of Peak Moor and Stanton Moor.
Areniscas UK are holding stocks of the Spanish stone in Chesterfield so customers can have as much as they want in the sizes they want quickly.
"On Monday this week," says Shaun, "we had a request for a sample of the stone. We sent it out on Monday afternoon.
