Both the General Council of the National Association of Memorial Masons (NAMM) and the Board of the British Register of Accredited Memorial Masons (BRAMM) have approved the merger of their registers of masons who have successfully completed training for the fixing of headstones in cemeteries.

NAMM’s Register of Qualified Mason Fixers and BRAMM will be combined to create a single, independent industry register with equal representation from burial authorities and memorial masons.

The new register keeps the BRAMM name, although for the next 12 months it will be promoted as the New BRAMM Register.

Everyone on each register will be included on the new register.

NAMM and BRAMM say they will be mutually supportive and in continuous communication.

Philip Potts, National Executive Officer of NAMM, says: “The merger of RQMF and BRAMM to create a single independent register is an extremely positive move for the industry.

“NAMM will be holding Road Shows around the country over the next 12months for both masons and burial authorities and will invite the new register to take part.

“NAMM will also be running a Trade Exhibition next June at the Warwickshire Exhibition Centre where the new register will exhibit. Further details of the merger will be reported in the NAMM and BRAMM news.”
