The Natural Stone Sustainability Awards – deadline for entries 27 January
The Sustainability Awards are part of Stone Federation's ongoing sustainability programme. Chief Executive Jane Buxey says: "The objective is to illustrate the sustainable qualities of natural stone and to recognise outstanding achievement, awareness and innovation in sustainability among Federation members."
Entries close at 5pm on Friday 27 January. Full details and entry forms can be requested from sustainable@stonefed.org.uk.
The competition is only open to projects involving a Stone Federation member and there is an entry fee of £75 plus VAT. Winners will be announced, and awards presented, at the Natural Stone Awards Sustainability Day at EcoBuild on 22 March at ExCel in London.
Last year the award for “Innovation” was won by masonry company Forest Pennant, which is generating its own green electricity at its site in the Forest of Dean. An award for “Sustainability Awareness” went to a biodiversity project at Marshalls’ Stancliffe Stone site in Matlock in Derbyshire and the “Landscape” award went to a project to resurface Base Court at Hampton Court Palace.
