New Celtic range from McAlpine

Alfred McAlpine Slate Ltd have introduced a new range of roofing slates to their portfolio. Called Celtic, the slates in the new range have a robust appearance and typically feature naturally occurring markings that enhance their appeal where a more textural aspect to the finished roof is required.

Produced under the same BSI assessed Quality Management System as other slates in the Afred McAlpine Slate range, the Celtic is a complement to the company\'s established Capital and County grades.

The new range has received an early viewing on the new Cwrt Sant Tudno apartment building on Llandudno\'s seafront. The development is by McCarthy & Stone, retirement home builders, and the slate was specified by project architect Nick Wood of Triangle Architects in response to Conwy Borough Council\'s requirement for natural Welsh slate to be used to complement existing roofs on the promenade buildings.

On the McCarthy & Stone building, the slate used was Celtic Heather Blue, but Celtic slates are also available in Blue/Grey and Dark Blue/Grey. They are offered in various sizes.
