New chest harness for hands free movement
Makita, the power tool manufacturers, have patented a chest harness invented to carry a 24volt cordless rotary hammer weighing 4kg. The new chest harness provides a convenient and safe method of carrying the tool, especially when climbing a ladder or moving around scaffolding.
The Makita harness has a padded steel chest plate with a pivoted carrying bracket and a twist lock that clamps the tool\'s handle firmly into place. All strap lengths are easily adjusted by slide buckles. The tool can be fitted either way round to suit right or left handed operators.
Makita have been running a Be Safe campaign to remind operators of sound safety practices and the new chest harness contributes to safety by giving operators a hands-free transport system for the power tool.
