The Lichfield-based Linford Group have appointed Robert Pearson as managing director. He has been promoted from his previous role as special projects manager, having worked with the Linford Group for nearly two years and been closely involved with flagship contracts such as the current work on Sir John Rylands Library in Manchester.

He says: "Linford are well known for their work in a range of disciplines including general contracting, specialist crafts and restoration. Interestingly, although many people outside the business perceive us as a restoration contractor, we actually generate a greater value of turnover in the new build sector.

"My aim is for us to stay focussed on the management and development of each of these divisions so we can be sure we are offering leading-edge service in each area. Then, if the job requires a combination of resources, there are few companies, if any, that are as well placed as Linford to draw these specialist areas together into a single team."
