New safety \'instant off\' from Lindsay sandblasters
The latest safety feature on Lindsay Command series abrasive blasters for cleaning buildings is the \'instant off\'.
The new remote control system provides a double level of safety. First, if the nozzle is dropped the mechanical safety valve shuts off the blast media at the nozzle in less than a second, compared with up to six seconds from some systems where the hose has to depressurise.
Second, should the safety shut off valve be dropped or the pressure be lost, the mixing valve at the bottom of the vessel closes in less than two seconds, minimising whip if the hose is severed.
And because Lindsay abrasive blast vessels remain pressurised when the operator lets go of the handle, delay is minimimsed when an operator wants to restart blasting, so improving productivity.
