Keith Alexander, the manager of Lincoln City Football Club, and some of the team\'s players were guests of honour for the opening of a new showroom in Lincoln last month (March).

The showroom is called RLS Stone by Design and is being run by Rebecca Payne, the wife of Shaun Payne, who established RLS Restoration last year.

The showroom displays fireplaces and, in a section separated by a low garden wall, garden furniture. All the items on display have been made by the two banker masons employed by the company, Simon Francis and Alan Armitage, and Shaun, himself a mason who was apprenticed and worked at Lincoln Cathedral for eight years during which he attended Weymouth College on block release courses.

His background has taught him the traditional stonemasonry crafts that last year he decided to put into practice in a business of his own that has been so successful he had to recruit the two masons who are now working with him and allowed him to take extra space next to his workshop to open the new showroom.
