Transcontinental Tiles & Tops (T3) whose launch was announced in the previous issue of Natural Stone Specialist, are expanding their network of \'granite partners\', as they call them, as the first containers of their stone landed in the UK at the end of September. The operation selling slabs, tiles and 2.8m lengths of 650mm wide worktops has been set up by Jim Borland (pictured above on the right), who used to own Marlborough Marble & Stone in Glasgow that he sold to a management buy-out team earlier this year, and Deepak Poddar (on the left), who has the Indian connections from which the stone is coming. Deepak\'s father-in-law, Sunil Modi, is running the operation in India, which they say will ensure the stones dispatched are of top quality and in slab sizes of 2.8m x 1.7m.
