Stonegate, the Stone tools and consumables supplier, is expanding with a move to new premises at the end of August. Its new address is: Melton House, Wyke Way, Melton, HU14 3HH. Tel: 01482 620400.

The move comes after 22 years at Westmoreland Street in Hull and takes the company to the A63, near the Humber Bridge.

The move is part of an ongoing programme by Stonegate. In the past year the company has rebranded, introduced a new website, a customer newsletter and new brands into its range.

Among the latest product launches is a new strengthening rod for stone worktop cut-outs. These new rods are carbon

fibre-reinforced GRP, which Stonegate says makes them 25% stronger than traditional GRP rods. They protect the worktop against cracking around the cut-out during manufacture, transit or installation.

Stonegate has also introduced a new range of edge polishing pads from Aztec – the Ultimax V2. The high diamond content and improved bond give worktop edges the same gloss as the machine-polished surface.

In fact, one customer in Manchester commented that the pads gave “the best polish we have ever had – and in so few pads! The polish is the best we have ever seen on every material and we don’t even use the buff pad as it makes the quartz too shiny.”­
