Stonemasons and stone carvers are invited to register for the annual European Stone Festival that is taking place this year in Trondheim, Norway, from 29 June to 1 July.
The event usually attracts about 160 craftspeople taking part and thousands of visitors who come to look, have a go themselves and bid for the work produced during the event and auctioned at the end.
The festival was launched by the stonemasonry college of Freiburg in Germany in 1999 and has travelled around Europe to different venues each year, including Canterbury Cathedral one year. The venue this year is the world-famous Nidarosdomen Cathedral. It restoration workshop staff are hosts and are providing the local organisation for the event.
