Ronnie Ball Award presented to enthusiastic youngster
Robert Adam Goodwin who, at 14, gained his first certificate in the Dry Stone Walling Association\'s (DSWA) Craftsman Certification Scheme last year, has been awarded a Silver Ronnie Ball Award.
The Award was established by the DSWA in memory of the late Ronnie Ball to recognise those under 21 years of age who have shown a particular interest in dry stone walling.
Robert Goodwin, who was born in 1988, would like to become a gamekeeper when he leaves school and sees dry stone walling as an important part of that lifestyle.
Members of the Lancashire Branch of the DSWA, which Robert joined, were keen to further his enthusiasm for the craft and proposed him for a Ronnie Ball Award.
The panel that judged his portfolio were impressed by his enthusiasm for walling and felt he had great potential to take his skills further.
