Sam Matthews, a stonemason at Canterbury Cathedral, has concluded three years’ as a student of the Building Crafts College (BCC) in London in spectacular style. He won the City & Guilds Gold Medal of Excellence, which earned him an invitation to the annual City & Guilds Lion Awards at the prestigious Roundhouse in London.

He also received the prestigious Sir Banister Fletcher Award from the Building Crafts College this year as their best student and the Worshipful Company of Masons’ Prize for Outstanding Effort for his diligence and commitment to the course over the past three years.
