Stancliffe Stone hit by Marshalls' axe
Marshalls is in negotiations with employees about reducing the output of Stancliffe Stone, the dimensional stone business based near Matlock in Derbyshire that it bought in 2001.There will be redundancies. The negotiations are due to be concluded at the end of this month (July) and Marshalls cannot say much until the process is finished, but the management at Stancliffe Stone has confirmed that it has entered into a period of consultation with trades union and employee representatives and employees over the need for a reduction in output.
