Stancliffe stones chosen for projects
Styancliffe Stone are supplying £150,000 worth of Stanton Moor Gritstone ashlar for an extension to Victoria Hospital in Blackpool. Contractors on the project are Laing O\'Rourke.
Stancliffe are also supplying Stanton Moor walling stone worth £80,000 to the new Bradford South Police Station.
Quarried at the company\'s Dale View Quarry in Derbyshire, the Stanton Moor stone will be used to provide walling for the exterior of the £10million police station, due to be completed this year. The building is a five storey steel structure with a natural stone faÃade.
And a new Tesco supermarket in Dumfries includes a show of Locharbriggs red sandstone from Stancliffe.
Tesco used £40,000 worth of the stone from the quarry on the outskirts of Dumfries that has been active since 1890 to create perimeter walls around roundabouts on the site.
