The latest in a series of afternoon seminars by St Albans consultants STATS will focus on \'Successful Use of Stone in Modern Construction\'. As in previous years, the seminar, being held this time on Wednesday 20 April, will be in the Fielder Centre in Hatfield.

Professor Peter Fookes will chair the event and speakers include Roger Bloomfield of Architects Bickerdike Allen Partners, Geoff Werran of Engineers Buro Happold, former Stone Federation President Peter Harrison, and David Fordyce of Pavement Technology.

Dr Ian Blanchard from STATS will give a presentation on the use of natural stone for internal flooring and during the interval STATS\' specialist petrographer, Jeremy Ingham, will give a practical demonstration of microscopy of stone.
