The Conservation Trust for St Laurence, Ludlow, is staging the Ludlow Conservation Weekend on 21-22 May. St Laurence's was one of only 18 churches given a Five Star rating by Simon Jenkins in his book, "England's Thousand Best Churches". The Weekend is being organised to raise money to contribute to the costs of restoring the church's magnificent monuments and stonework, and the programme will incorporate a Stone Carving Festival, illustrated talks, walks and guided tours of the church, a craft exhibition and a brick-making demonstration using local clay.
