Stone firms produce super-size block of Portland

Portland limestone has always been available in large formats, but quarry company Stone Firms have just quarried one of the largest blocks ever to have been extracted from the Dorset island that the stone comes from.
It was taken from Stone Firms’ Broadcroft quarry and comes from the Whitbed. It is 20m3 and weighs nearly 50 tonnes.
