Kirkstone quarry their own volcanic blue and green slate from Cumbria but they also supply a lot of other stones from around the world from their headquarters near Ambleside and their showroom in London. One of the latest projects they were involved in used one of those imported stones, Florac honed limestone from south-west France. There were 550m2 of it specified by Sonnemann Toon Architects for a private bank in Moor House, London, and was chosen for its contemporary feel with gentle tones and fine grain, with its subtle textures and variations adding interest to the bank’s interiors.
