Conservation and new build stone specialists Stonewest have landed themselves a contract working on 6,000m² of a Grade I Listed private residence in central London’s exclusive St James’.

Stonewest are designing, supplying and installing marble and Portland and other limestone stone floors and walls into approximately 80 rooms at this prestigious home.

Always ready to pull out all the stops for a client, they will be sourcing stone, including semi-precious Petrified Wood and Onyx, from the four corners of the globe, including China, Brazil, Italy and Turkey.

Due for completion in summer next year, the project will involve a wide range of intricate interior stonework.

The extensive refurbishment contract will include the design and installation of ornate inlaid marble floors for several of the property’s main rooms, as well as fitting marble walls and marble fluted columns, with voluted capitals, into the main reception room and entrance hall.

Stonewest will lay 1,000m² of marble flooring in the bathrooms and fit 300m² of new limestone and 125m² of black granite flooring and staircases. They will repair the existing Portland Stone floors and add 30m² of new Portland flooring.
