Time off in loo – can you picture it?
What's the toilet like where you work? No, don't bother. We can imagine. But if there is something particularly unusual about it – preferably its setting, rather than anything else – taking a picture of it could earn you £1,000 (or maybe a holiday in 'Looe'!).
Portable toilets on construction sites might not be the most photogenic subjects, but you can now win a five-star holiday or cash simply by taking a picture of one – although it will have to be an interesting one.
Drain Doctor, the plumbing and drainage company, is offering more than £1,000 worth of prizes in a competition to find the oldest, the most unusual, or the most unusually situated outside loo. All you need to do is take a ‘loofie’.
What’s a loofie? Well, it’s a sort of selfie but of a loo – a picture of a toilet that in this case also has to be outside. It is going to have to be a pretty impressive toilet to win on its own, so probably what is going to make it interesting is the setting. Maybe you have a convenience on a construction site in the middle of nowhere, or in the middle of a city street.
The best entry will get a weekend away at a five-star hotel in Looe, Cornwall, a prize hamper and two tickets to the Eden Centre, or £1,000 in cash.
Drain Doctor managing director Robin Banks says: “You don’t need to be in the photo (or in the loo). It’s just the picture of the loo that we want. Or several pictures.
“And what’s a winning loofie? It’s one that amuses, intrigues or entertains our judge. It’s as simple as that. So, if you can, tell us a bit about the loo as well as sending the loofie – where is it located...? why is it there...? how old it is (you can get extra ‘points’ for a really old outside loo)...? is it currently in use...?"
All you need to do is take your loofie and post it on Drain Doctor’s Facebook page or on Twitter. If you don’t have a social media account, email your pictures to john@olsenmetrix.com.
Closing date is Friday 25 March this year. So go take your loofie now and send it in.
