Kirkstone Silver Green honed and sanded slate from Cumbria has been used to floor Time Central Building in Newcastle Upon Tyne, a seven storey, 8,000m² prestigious office development by Gallowgate Properties. Lister Architects designed the building, the main contractors were Tolent Construction and the floor was laid by P Plunkett Tiling. The stone was used for interior paving and staircase treading. Kirkstone was chosen for its strong natural markings and a broad range of shading that helps to exhibit the unique volcanic origins of the material. Kirkstone slate is ideal for demanding high traffic applications such as reception areas, banking halls and airport terminals.
