27 March deadline to get your share of CITB's £25,000

The Natural Stone Industry Training Group (NSITG) has again been awarded £25,000 by CITB to assist in the cost of delivery of training and skills development to in-scope CITB-registered companies in the natural stone sector.

As in past years, natural stone companies registered with CITB are invited to identify their training needs and apply for funding assistance for relevant courses which will be funded in whole or in part by the NSITG.

There are three provisos:

  1. Evidence of a company training plan for 2015 will be needed to support an application
  2. The funding limit for each company is £2,500 for the year
  3. No single individual can benefit by more than £1,000

Preference will be given to training that develops skills in stonemasonry disciplines rather than training to maintain legal compliance, although courses that deliver that (such as SMSTS, SSSTS etc) are still eligible – for example NHTG Understanding the Repair & Maintenance of pre-1919 Traditional Buildings (13&14 April – contact NHTG for more details), Stone Federation GB Design & Installation of Natural Stone Flooring (1 July), Stone Federation Use of Stone in Building Course (7 October 2015), Leadership & Management courses, SEATS and Environmental Courses and PASMA.

If you are an in-scope CITB registered stone company and wish to take advantage of this offer, please email me at the address below before 27 March with an outline of what you would like and I will send you further details.
