Two-and-a-half times faster with Stonetools

Stonetools says its latest range of diamond tools from Marmoelletromeccanica is two-and-a-half times faster.

Stonetools in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, is selling a range of Marmoelettromeccanica CNC edge profiling tooling for stone fabricators that the makers say can increase productivity by at least two-and-a-half times on granite, quartz, ceramic and Dekton slabs.

The Extra High Speed (EHS) range uses the latest diamond technology with a copper-bonded coating that can reach speeds of up to 10,000mm a min.

And the extra speed does not even cost more. In fact, these tools costs significantly less than many.

The Italians say the lifespan of EHS tools is not shortened by the fast working speeds, either. Although tool life is difficult to predict accurately due to the many variables involved in stone processing, the company’s tests indicate EHS tools will last just as long as any others in terms of metres worked.

Those who have used them say they produce a perfect finish. One of Stonetools’ customers, a busy worktop manufacturer in South Wales, says: “…we are really happy with the quality of the polish, even after use. They are the fastest set we’ve used and we’re now producing twice as many worktops as before.”

EHS tools feature a continuous rim diamond coating that wears evenly, so there’s no need to redress them. All profiling tools from Marmo are supplied with a technical set up sheet, which helps reduce set up time, and they have Z axis alignment, which means only one manual check of the tools is required on one position (Stonetools recommends position three as this is the final metal position). This increases the accuracy of the tools, decreases set up time and reduces the chance of error.

Marmoelettromeccanica has been making tools for more than 45 years and continues to create solutions that provide real benefits for users, says Ross Mead, Stonetools’ Sales & Marketing Manager.
