The Natural Stone Show next March is set for a boost from the 2012 Olympics, as the ExCeL London venue for the Show is just 1¹/₂miles from the 500-acre Olympic Park.

London’s selection as the host city for the 2012 Olympic Games has stimulated one of the biggest construction and regeneration initiatives in Europe, with an investment of more than £6billion in building on the Olympics themselves and a massive spend by the hotels, restaurants and other commercial venues around the park that has already benefited the stone industry and promises much more to come.

ExCeL itself will host seven Olympic sports and six Paralympic events in 2012, providing four arenas with between 6,000 and 10,000 seats for boxing, fencing, judo, taekwondo, table tennis, weightlifting and wrestling.
