Visitor Attraction

The new National Trust for Scotland visitor centre at Glencoe was designed, by Gaia Architects of Edinburgh, specifically to incorporate materials that are ecologically benign and non-toxic. Those materials have included 800m2 of Cumbrian stone producer Burlington\'s Blue/Grey natural roofing slate, fixed by McLeod Roofing of Inverness. The ecologically sound credentials of the centre, which has been laid out like a Clachan (Gaelic for \'village\'), were particularly important as it replaces the Trust\'s previously inappropriately positioned visitor centre.
