Want to see some exceptional crafts?

Summer Exhibition
7-8 May 2016, 10am-5pm

There will be some exceptional skills on display in Andover, Hampshire, next weekend (7-8 May), including the work of lettercutter Robyn Golden-Hann.

The event is Project Workshops' Summer Exhibition weekend. The workshops will be open 10am to 5pm each day.

Project Workshops is a vibrant centre for the visual arts at Lains Farm, Quarley, in North West Hampshire (SatNav: SP11 8PX). It is home to more than a dozen artists who create a unique range of sculpture, furniture, ceramics, and glass vessels.

Founded in 1989 in carefully refurbished farm buildings, Project Workshops has become a respected venue for collectors and art buyers from both home and overseas.

Expansion in 2009 added four more workshops, a purpose-built foundry, and the magnificent ‘Granary Gallery’.

Robyn Golden-Hann is a traditionally trained stonemason who is the former head-carver at Salisbury cathedral. She went on to study lettercutting at David Kindersley’s renowned Cambridge studio before moving to Project Workshops in 2006.

Robyn hand carves letters in stone and slate, creating bespoke memorials, plaques and public inscriptions. Each commission is unique, created in close collaboration with the client and designed sensitively to reflect the person commemorated while remaining appropriate to the intended location.

Previous commissions include Royal opening plaques for Salisbury District Hospital and the memorial slate for Sir Edward Heath in Salisbury cathedral.
