Warning: credit card fraudsters target stone processing supply companies

A credit card scammer has hit several stone processing supply companies this month (September).

A credit card that turns out to have originated in America is being used by a caller ordering diamond tools, saws, electrical tools and other equipment using the name of a main contractor with a substantial credit limit and a sound credit rating.

The caller asks for the tools and equipment to be delivered to site, giving an address. When the delivery is made, a person is at the gate to take posession of the goods before they go onsite.

One stone equipment supply company told Natural Stone Specialist magazine that the caller had given the wrong secuity number but the card had still been accepted by the issuer.
