Welsh Stone Forum to hold inaugural meeting in March
Fforwm Cerrig Cymru (Welsh Stone Forum), the principality\'s answer to the Scottish Stone Liaison Group, is to hold its inaugural meeting at the national Museum of Wales, Cathays Park, Cardiff, on Saturday 8 March, 11.30am.
Welsh Stone Forum has grown out of the Stone in Wales conference held at the Museum of Wales in April last year. Many of the Papers from that three-day conference are to be published by Cadw, the Welsh equivalent of English Heritage, in a conference book shortly.
Since the conference, a working party has been developing a draft constitution for the Welsh Stone Forum. The inaugural meeting will adopt (or amend) that constitution and elect a committee to manage the Forum.
After the meeting there will be field trips to Cardiff Bay and Cardiff Castle to look at the stonework at both locations.
