World Skills mason meets the Queen

Oldham stonemason Gary Collier had a chance to give the Queen some tips on keeping Buckingham Palace in tip top condition when he was part of a small contingent from the UK\'s 2005 WorldSkills team who attended a royal garden party at the Palace. Gary, who works for Lloyd & Smith Ltd, a company providing building conservation and restoration work in the North West, won a silver medal for stonemasonry at WorldSkills last year. His training manager for WorldSkills, Kevin Calpin, who is a stonemasonry tutor at York College, also attended the garden party. He is pictured above straightening Gary\'s tie outside Buckingham Palace in preparation for their encounter with the Queen.
