Cosentino, the Spanish stone company behind Silestone Quartz, Dekton ultracompact surfaces and Sensa sealed natural granite worksurfaces, has opened its fifth Cosentino City centre for architects and designers in the heart of Clerkenwell, the design centre of London.

On Thursday (22 September), London joined Milan, New York, Sydney and Singapore in having a Cosentino City. Among the guests at the opening was Vanessa Brady, OBE, an interior designer and President of the Society of British & International Design, who described the new Cosentino City as a "proper business destination".

It is an impressive space, in a modern building in Old Street where Cosentino will host architects and designers from across the UK in an inviting centre for business in London.

Clerkenwell is a hub for world-class brands with a buzzing cultural scene. No other part of London has as many international design showrooms, making it the ideal location for Cosentino’s new commerical design centre.

Created to be a destination for architects  and designers to meet as well as to see and select from Cosentino’s product range and discover how the surfaces can be used for  a wide range of projects, Cosentino City is a space configured to promote the relationship between professionals and the Cosentino commercial team.

Cosentino brands – Dekton, Silestone and Sensa – decorate the space, creating an area where everyone speaks the language of design. The centre is also available for kitchen studios to bring clients for meetings or for consumers to get ideas for their next  big project.

Showroom manager Diego Florio says of the new centre: "Cosentino City London goes beyond the idea of a 'showroom'. It offers inspiration for anyone who visits, but overall we see it as a commercial design centre where professionals can bring their clients, have meetings and get excited about the possibilities. Product interaction is also key as it allows greater vision for potential projects."

Appliances and fittings in Cosentino City were carefully selected – premium kitchen appliances from Miele, including the latest induction hob, coffee  machine, wine conditioner and oven. Zanotta chairs provide a relaxing and comfortable workspace, along with stylish furniture from Andreu World and Vitra.

The showroom also houses top-of-the range TVs from Sony and a sound system by Bose for perfect audio-visual for presentations.

Cooking demonstrations, CPDs, lectures, product launches and other events will frequently be held in the Cosentino City London showroom.
