Construction output grew 4.8% in the second quarter of this year compoared with the same quarter in 2013, according to the revised figures released today (8 August) by the Office for National Statistics.
The monthly estimates for construction output for June 2014 increased by 1.2% when compared with May 2014, with new work increasing by 0.9% and repair & maintenance increasing by 1.6%.
On the year, the picture is one of growth with output in the construction industry increasing by 5.3% in June 2014 compared with June 2013. During this period there were increases in both new work and repair & maintenance of 5.4% and 5.0% respectively.
