Fermanagh & Omagh District Council in Ireland is receiving conservation architecture advice from Consarc and has appointed JPM as contractor on a £200,000 project to raise the profile of the ‘hidden gem’ that is Forthill Park. The work notably includes the renovation of Cole’s Monument, at 30m high one of the most prominent landmarks of the Enniskillen skyline.
The stone column built in 1845 is topped with a statue of General Sir G Lowry Cole carved by Irish sculptor Terence Farrell. There are 108 steps inside leading to a viewing platform providing panoramic views of Enniskillen and the surrounding area.
