Granite Transformations have developed an iPad App that enables customers to see how their new worktops will look in their own homes. Rather than just employing stock images of standard kitchen roomsets for visualising a makeover, the company’s iGranite App allows users to photograph their own kitchens then manipulate the image to try out different colour and material combinations.

Using one of the in-built cameras in the latest iPad2, or a digital camera in conjunction with the original iPad, the customer (or Granite Transformations stockist) can photograph an actual kitchen, upload the pictures to the application’s image database and overlay new worktops, doors, drawers and splashbacks on to the existing surfaces. So instead of just imagining how a change in décor might look, the customer sees a virtual image of their kitchen with the new finishes. And it works for bathrooms, too.
