Christopher Berridge to represent UK masonry at WorldSkills

Christopher Berridge, 22, from Crewkerne is to represent British stonemasonry at this year’s WorldSkills contest that takes place 5-8 October at ExCeL London, where the Natural Stone Show is held. Christopher, a former student of Bath College who works for Harvey Stone in Winchester, will be one of 1,000 competitors from more than 50 countries competing in 46 skills. Chris, who has already gained a bronze medal in the EuroSkills competition in Portugal, says: “The WorldSkills competition really is the Olympics for the construction trade and I’m delighted to have made the cut and been chosen to represent Team UK. Winning a bronze in the EuroSkills competition was a fantastic experience but to be the only stonemason chosen to represent the UK at WorldSkills is a massive achievement.”
