Glittering Stone Awards presented at Lords

The Natural Stone Awards were presented with all due ceremony by the world's best known cricket umpire, Dickie Bird, at Lords, the spiritual home of cricket, on 21 November – too late to appear in the November issue of Natural Stone Specialist, but the Awards souvenir brochure will be in the centre of the December issue of the magazine. If you cannot wait until then, see below.

At the Awards ceremony, Jim Rosenthal, the TV sports commentator, was the compere while 'voice of the balls' Alan Dedicoat announced the winners. The presentation of the Awards was followed by a celebratory lunch in the hallowed halls of the headquarters of Marylebone Cricket Club, guardians of the laws and traditions of the game.
